My new friend needs an introduction....
So I started looking for a bigger bike when I came to the conclusion that my 1979 KZ400 wasn't enough to keep me safe or satisfied anymore. Don't get me wrong, the KZ is an awesome bike and I love her style but 400cc was just not enough for me to comfortably get on the highway and keep up with typical NJ traffic. The search began for something larger but it had to have a similar look and style from the 70's era. Fast forward a few months....A friend of a friend told me of a 70's CB750 for sale for only a few hundred dollars. I've always had an interest in the CB750, especially the "K" model but never liked the fact that it had 4 cylinders. To me, that just meant it had 4x the problems. This same friend that told me about the bike had been riding a CB750 for a while and once I saw the reliability and availability of parts for the bike, I warmed up to the idea of owning one a little more. So I set up a night to look at the bike and after checking it out, I knew that I had to have it. It was a little rough around the edges and needed some work but for $300, the price was right and it even had the paperwork to go with it!
