Since the time I had set aside for rebuilding the carbs was cut short, (see Carb Troubles) I decided to start prepping the rear hub from the CB to accept the rim of the GL1000.
Side note: If you didn't already know, the advantage of running the GL1000 rear rim is that it's 17", aluminum and wider the stock CB 18" steel rim....and it looks cooler. The CB750 hub will lace up to a GL1000 rear rim since they are both 40 spoke however you do need custom length spokes from either www.buchananspokes.com or a Hondamatic CB750A.
So, out came the trusty tire spoons and I went to town...
After about 20 minutes of swearing and sweating, I decided that the rusty spokes were not worth saving since I was going to throw the rim, spokes and tire in the garbage anyways. I put away the tire levers and busted out the angle grinder....heheheheh......F-it.
One minute later the hub was out and I was free to go on with my life.
